Detour to Penang: Day 1 (1/5/2008)

Now listening to Rob Costlow - Solo Piano

It all started with an initial " long weekend with nothing to do....". Some friends were planning for a trip to Penang and we decided to tag along, make a nuisance of ourselves and made a makan trip up north to Penang. Accommodation, fortunately was not a problem. So that's settled, all we need to worry is finding what and where to eat. So we, myself, Eddy, Jing, Dennis, Ann (lol) and Angel made a trip up north...

Started my journey up north from KL at about 0900, going through Ipoh for some lunch and ice coffee, and finally reaching Penang at about 1500 if I'm not mistaken. Hurried to the condominium, to freshen up and unpack before setting out for our 1st stop.

View inside and outside our condominium....

Then our 1st stop was Swatow Lane's Sin Se Kai or New World. It was a hot day and what better way to cool it down than a bowl of ice cool Ais Kacang and Cendol. I had the cendol and i would say it has nothing really special. But on a hot afternoon, anything cool tastes good. Others ordered the Ais Kacang Special; regular ais kacang topped with assorted tropical fruits; which consist of mango, papaya, banana...i suppose thats it.

We can't resist but to give in and ordered the oyster omelette or we and the locals call 'or chian'.
Egg, some batter and fresh oysters and you will get

Next stop was for fresh coconut at Abu Siti Lane...and somehow the dude we called for directions managed to give us abu-siti-link. Again, nothing really special as what we had there was fresh young coconut.

The dude cutting the coconuts open is obviously damn strong as all he did was swing his 'knife' and the coconut can do nothing but be cut opened like a hot knife through butter. Its sweet, fresh and tasted just like a coconut. ( one of my friends asked me what it tasted like).

The off to Batu Feringgi to catch the sunset. Traffic there was rather conjested as people are trying to move in and out of the area and at the same time, the roads ain't that wide. The attraction there was definitely the beach as well as the famous night market there. You can get almost everything from CDs, clothing, accessories and even a Gucci bag. Fake one la.

We can jet ski there
Even ATVs are available there
Horseback riding too...enjoy your ride as the horse shits all over
Dont know what is this called but that odd thing there seem like a rubber boat being pulled by a speedboat.

And obviously enjoy the sunset. It was a beautiful sight also due to the clear weather then.

Some roundabout near Gurney Drive

The off the Gurney Drive for our dinner. Plenty of foods galore and obviously that place is packed. Did not take any pictures of the food as we are too famished to wait for anyone to take any pictures. We ordered fruit rojak which was damn good, Muachi, Sotong kangkung, Pork Satay, Fried chicken skin, Ikan bakar, another helping of Or Chian and....i think thats about it.

Soon, Diana joined us and so starts my torment. Well, with her around i am not to laugh as part of the deal with her. Loser owes the victor a box of Tau Sa Pheah. Small wager only lar..Obvious to say, I'm kinda fighting a losing battle. They are trying everything in the book to try to make me laugh. It was torture i tell you. Fortunately that deal ends at noon the next day.

After dinner, we went back to the condo and my torment continues. I can't even seek refuge in my own room to keep myself from laughing. Imagine someone telling you a joke or even doing something crazy to you, and all you can do is look back with a -_- face. It was it think 0200 when I gave in. Something really funny happened and i can't help but to smile a bit. Can u imagine one crazy gal who splashed water (sprinkle...but SPLASHING) not on your head while another was ironing it? Talk about risk of being electrocuted. It wasn't even a laugh and i was judged to have lost the deal.. :(

Thats it for the 1st day. Will update more later on..
Crazy things that others will do to you...zzz

Ciao for now..

Shits that happen at OldTown Cafe...

Erm....how do i put this in a nice way...

Well, when one goes to a seemingly established food joint; OLD TOWN CAFE; one would expect somewhat a good and professional service.

However, that is not the case in our last visit there. As most frequent visitors to the cafe knows, we more or less check what we want to order and a piece of slip before handing it over to the waiter to get our orders done. So happens, there are new dishes available that is not on the piece of slip there. A Golden Pratha with Sausage and a plain one without the sausage; with butter and kaya I presume.

So we ordered the one with the sausage with the waiter. He does not seem local and as he repeated the order; he got the pratha with sausage order wrong, so what we did was we reiterate what we ordered so and hoped he does not get it wrong. He acknowledged that he got it right.

Guess what....

As it was served, it was the wrong order. We insist them to change it but he needs to consult his manager. His manager insisted that this order cannot be replaced and we will have to settle for it and order another one...I was like..WTF; and called for the manager..

So the manager came....all hell kinda broke loose. He insisted that the waiter repeated the order; but to us, it just wasnt repeated right. He kept insisting that we confirmed the order; but as we asked the waiter to repeat the order, they just left. WTF!!!
They voided the wrong order, as demanded by our part; but did not even serve us the correct order..

TALK ABOUT BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Not only he did not offered to replace the wrong meal which we were in a way cool with it, we don't play for what we did not order la. But not even a word of apology after making a mistake and came blaming us for that mistake? Moreover SHOUTING at us?

We soon found out the he was not even the damn manager; he is just the f$@king cashier. We called for manager and THE damn cashier came? walao....talk about walking in other people's shoe. Since when did he think he is the manager of that damn joint?

I personally dont blame the waiter but am rather pissed at the so called "manager" for managing the store and treating the customers the way he did. We did not really get his name, but somehow or rather, im planning to actually shoot out a complain letter to the head office of OLD TOWN COFFEE CAFE or watever its called.

We may not boycott the place as its kinda like a nice place to hang out, but if this SHIT continue to happen , we may just boycott the store for another branch nearby.

Btw, the branch I'm talking about is the one at Jaya1 ( correct me) at section 13 PJ.

Ciao.

Obama Craze in the States?

I saw this news over at CNN which made my jaw drop literally. i was like :O

Apparently a plate of half eaten waffles and sausage, together with its cutlery; eaten by Obama himself was put on auction on e-bay. Its apparently plastic wrapped and frozen right after Obama left it there.

After about 36 bids or so; maybe less or more; it reaches USD 20100. Pretty shit expensive for some half eaten waffles don't you think?
Many would have though that is action would made the guy who posted it up smilling till his lips can't frigging stretch no more....

but the end of the description of the item was...
"money raised from the sale of Senator Obama's breakfast would "go to Hillary for President!!!! Haha.""

would you like pay usd20100 for half eaten waffles? you could get fresh ones with ice creams on top in AnW for less than 10 bucks..

Add another title here....

Listening now to : Ash Like Snow - The Brilliant Green

Its been a long while since the last post and its been a topsy turvy period of time since then.

Was at the Sean Kingston 'concert' last Friday. I wouldn't really called it a concert as, he blardy performed for only 30 minutes. In fact, I think the opening act by MC Jin was a whole lot more interesting. Sean Kingston aka. FDWKV ( Fat Dude With Kool Voice) came with 2 backup rappers, a DJ who in fact did most of the entertaining with mixing and pre-recorded vocals, as well as some bad-ass dulan looking body guards.

Even all that, the moment that chubby dude opened with " Me love" every girl in the hall literally melted...Its not to say that its a bad 'concert', but a world tour when only dropping by a Zouk and sing and dance for like about 30 minutes? He even showed his emo-ness on stage...haha
Its not a disappointing showcase, but it wasn't that impressive either. Prolly due to the fact that the tickets was free.

After that 'concert' jetted down over to Laundry for some drinks with some friends. They actually did something that i would say ' siao'. Malibu Surf tasted like cough mixture and it was too damn concentrated. So, we MUST add some ice to dilute it a bit, along with some PussyCat and Tequila Sunrise along with some white wine Obviously the outcome wasn't as expected. I thought i tried the Colorado Bulldog. When it arrived, my drink looked like Nescafe Ping' from some higher grade mamak. It wasn't that bad, a concoction of coffee liquor, cola and vodka.

Weeks work came and went. Was out of office the whole week as i need to attend to some stuff coming one after another at our Data Center.

Friday night came again, and i was declared emo for the day. zzz
Some stuff happened la. After work, i went with for some Korean BBQ with some friends. Well, the food was a whole lot tastier and more savory compared to the last one i had. This store passed my taste and it was good. Well worth it.

We then went over to Laundry and started off with the Blue Margarita tower to ' wash' and 'clear' ourselves. Then Eddy ordered this for me....
Obviously thats not the real picture. Its googled. No pictures was taken then unfortunately, but a short video of me downing it was taken -.-.

In case for those who don't know. Its the Flaming Lamborghini. A concoction of, Blue Curacao, Sambuca, some coffee liquor and some Galliano ( or something or rather...don't remember the spelling). Its where several glass for stacked up into a tower like contraption with the coffee liquor+Galliano(?) at the bottom. The Sambuca was set a flamed and was pour over from the top of the 'tower'. As it flowed into the coffee liquor, the Blue Curacao was added into. And that i went i sticked the straw into the liqour and start sipping it dry..Careful not to get hair burned. It was good, but the afters, i felt my throat and the part where the drink flowed into my stomach as thou it was burning. Got really dizzy then after that. Fortunately i can still drive. Thanks to Eddy for tailing my car all the way home.

Was sent this by Kazuki. Apparently he is some Japanese Comedian acting gay, a former wrestler. Dont mind the title, enjoy the video. Its really funny. Hoooooo!

Thats about it i guess.

Add title here

Currently listening to : Whoever Brings The Night - Nightwish.

BTW the title was so as i don't currently have any ideas what to put there....

Nightwish by the way is a Finnish rock band. The songs they play have a mixture of heavy rock as well as some slower beats. No, they are not new; they have been around for awhile already, not really well known at our shores. Speaking of which....
ITS HERE!!!!!!
Thanks to Kazuki for helping me getting this album via e-bay. Got hooked to it since i 1st heard their songs and now i can even enjoy them in the car. haha. Went over to MidValley and also saw this album at one of the record stores there; the one opposite Nike. Gutted at first knowning that i gone through all the trouble of getting it via e-bay. Then i saw the price...RM46.80 when i only got mine for like half the price.

I damn like the song Last Of The Wilds from this album. Its an instrumental song, with the beat and rhythm of an Irish Dance tune. Soothing and really nice..
I also got a version where there are singing in it, but it was sung in Finnish and i could bare understand what is mentioned there. BTW, the songs in the album are in English...

Recently
have a contest where, if you registered with them, they calling you and you having a Sean Kingston caller ring tone, you automatically win 4 passes to watch that chubby dude perform in Zouk. I'm not really a huge fan of his; but i guess why got give it a try. So i registered with them and one fine day....last Friday to be exact,
The DJ from Hitz.fm, if i'm not mistaken, it was Jin; contacted me. I was shocked as i wasn't really hoping to win.
This is how it goes, if i remember clearly that is..

me: Helo?
Jin: is this Daniel?
me: ya.....
Jin: you just won 4 passes to watch Sean Kingston live at Zouk!!!!
me: wow...thats great...
Jin: now scream like a girl
me: .....

ok the last 2 line was added by myself here as i don't really remember what was spoken there...

So, i got 4 passes to watch this chubby dude at Zouk.
Ok lar...just go there and have some fun and release some work stress.
The concert will be at Zouk this 11th of April. from 9pm onwards...

Currently i have been thinking of try a new hobby. I've been reading about and considering about rearing and breeding crystal shrimps..

Pretty aren't they. But they are rather costly in the market, with the lowest grade ( those with more red than white) comes to about RM10 each. High grade ones ( those with more white or have some distinctive red pattern on them) can reach the hundreds each, They aren't that big either, with most of them are no longer that the diameter of a 20cent coin. Feeding won't be that much a problem thou as they feed on vegetation, so a cut of cucumber or tomato would suffice. Problem will be the shrimps itself, an big enough aquarium; 2 ft at least if you wanna breed them, lightings as well as moss and water vegetations for them to munch on. Heard they groom the moss rather than eat them.

Guess now i would just settle with this

Sadly, those are not my fish. haha. I'm just settling at aquascaping and rearing discus and other ornamental fish.
This is not my tank too....but this is mine...

Not as impressive...haha. Those pictures are outdated, have not taken a picture of it now..lazy
Too bad i cant put crystal shrimps in here else they will be eaten as soon as they enter the tank.

So another note. Arsenal crash out of the UCL in a 5-3 aggregate to Liverpool. What i would say is the referee influenced this result. A clear penalty where Kuyt dragged Hleb down in the penalty box in the 1st leg was not given. That game ended 1-1. In the 2nd leg, it was 2-2 in the 84th minute with Arsenal looking to go thru via the away goals rule. A minute later, Babel was judged to have been fouled by Toure and a penalty was given. The challenge was from outside the box so it should be a free kick, Babel went looking for a penalty, in other words he dived, and its a soft penalty to give. Many said the Kuyt-Hleb incident warrants a penalty rather than the Babel - Toure incident. Its done, Steven Gerrard buried the resulting penalty and Babel went on to add another when Arsenal was pushing for another goal in the last minute of the game.

Well, IMO, Arsenal often get decisions against them where they are not the 'big' team compared to the likes of Liverpool or Barcelona. Decisions always goes against Arsenal. I would say the three games against Liverpool was overshadowed by some poor referee decisions, especially both the UCL ties. What to do, we are hated....sigh...

Sometimes....shit happens

Currently listening to : It Doesn't Matter - Wyclef John feat. The Rock

I am now feeling...

As we know, its all different day, same shit. Was out on site somewhere today. Was suppose to setup or replace a print server. It all started from installing Windows into the system. As the OS was stored within the network, we had to boot from the network. And guess what,

Access Denied!!!

WTF? Its been ongoing since yesterday, and by attempt after attempt, it still shows the dreaded 'blue screen of death' ( BIOS screen is blue wert....). So try and try, and out of the blue (lol) it went through. FINALLY!!!!

Then to install the printers...all in a days work. To add a network printer, we used the IP address. done, tested and it works...yay!! then someone had to change the IP to a name for the printer, causing it to not work..Alright he seems like an IT guy and he does work in the organization, i just let him do his configurations la...And it did not work; screwing up the printer set up. So just let him play around with the settings and configuration, still did not work.

Then its when i got
and told him that if it works with IP address earlier, lets give it a try again. Then it works, try printing from a remote location, and it blardy WORKS TOO!!!!
Then i told him to do the same for the other printer and it WORKS locally as well as from a remote location.

And all that took like 15mins +-. The configuration and settings he did but to no result took almost 2 hours. As i had to be there, i was there looking at him doing his stuff, feeling really TULAN....

Really glad thats over and done with...

On the lighter note, went to Kepong for steamboat on the 1st with Ivan, Alwyn, Fiona and Jason. Did not manage to get an pictures of the food as we are all hungry famished ghost. Once it is boiled and ready, we just dug in. Verdict is, the food is good, lots of variety and quite reasonable too. No, its not a buffet but we did order what we wanted instead of the conventional sets that most steamboat outlets offer.
Tomyam soup, together with their special home made blended red and green chilli, a dash of garlic oil and some fried onions to go along with the fresh ingredients ( cant think of any other word at the moment) was the next best thing to heaven. Yes it was really that good, or im just really hungry to the level that everything tasted good. haha. Seriously is was good.

Champions League yesterday and today...
MU beating Roma at Olympico was kinda expected but 0-2 was quite a flattering scoreline I'd say. Barcelona expectedly shown their class with a 1-0 away win at Schalke. Fenebache with what would be the result of this match day with their 2-1 win over a much favored Chelsea. Arsenal being held by Liverpool at the Emirates for 1-1. OK result for Arsenal i guess, but its rather disappointing because of the possession that Arsenal enjoyed and being denied a blatant penalty when Kuyt dragged Helb down in the penalty box. However, no point dwelling in that matter.

if google's promotion tool was like this
it will be a whole lot more famous...IMO..

and something i stumble upon in a forum...

Thats all for now i guess...

L Change the WorLd

OK...i've ran out of ideas on what to write or how to start the blog...
i guess i'll start like that

currently listening to: Night Drive - All American Rejects

now thats over with...

Yes, its the 3rd installment of the Death Note live action series. its a totally independent installment, taking no part from the manga or the anime. its more like a ' filler'. As the title shows, its about L. His real name is revealed as well the introduction of Near aka N in this installment. Basically is about what L does in his last 23 days on earth before biting the dust. Due to release on the 3rd of April ,but we somehow got some tickets for the show on the 29th of March in GSC. I wouldn't go into detail about the show but personally, i think its just a ok show.
A pretty long show, about 2 1/2 hours i think, a bit long winded but the plot is quite interesting.

On the pitch, its good to see Arsenal finally win in the league, coming back from 2-0 down to win 2-3 with 10men. Good to see Arsenal end a bad run of 4 draws and 1 defeat. Too bad they lost the lead at the table..sigh. Sad news for Derby fans as their team got relegated from the BPL. theres nothing much they can expect after only managing 1 win over 32 games. Good to see newcastle finally getting a run with a 1-4 win away to Tottenham.

On a lighter note, was surfing through kennysia.com and found this...
its lucky that people in Shanghai are not well versed in Malay...else...

it could be on of the reasons why that bank has not really landed here...hahahahaha

Happenings over the week

Its been awhile since the last post. There are those who go, " your blog 100 years never update", " ur blog die liao?" etc etc..No, not caught up with work, just lazy...
Alright...lets break it down really quick..

Ever since the elections, there are lots of interesting stuff to read in the newspaper as well as in Malaysiakini.com. Reading what the politicians say is rather interesting and i cannot help but actually find some of their comments rather funny, making it wonder do they see the bigger picture before uttering what they did. We can only hope that this new formed government will prosper the country over the years.

In the small world of football, UCL draw was out...since last Friday actually. With 4 english teams in the last 8 teams, the possibility of them facing each other was 3/7. Pretty high i would say.
This is how I would like to see the teams drawn.

  • Arsenal - Barcelona
  • Chelsea - Liverpool
  • MU - Roma
  • Fenebache - Schalke04
But as it turns out, its
  • Arsenal - Liverpool
  • Chelsea - Fenebache
  • MU - Roma
  • Barcelona - Schalke04
From the draw, we can almost guarentee an english team in the final as the winner of the arsenal - liverpool clash will meet the winner of chelsea - fenebahce; where chelsea are odds on favourites to progress...plus the prospect of a MU - Barcelona semi finals; is really something to look forward to.
Back in the EPL, sad to say, arsenal are close to blowing up their title chance..4 draws in a row is not helping...a recent run of good results for MU, chelsea and even liverpool might have put this years title race into a four horse face, with liverpool ,in 4th only 8 points behind ( need some checking)

Might drop by Bangsar/Hartamas/ Curve for the MU- Liverpool match this weekend.
Work wise, was out on site for 3 days this week..not that im complaining, i much prefer moving about rather than sitting in the office the whole day. and servers are not light...lolz

Went to a friend's birthday celebration over a Neways last wednesday. JD is expensive so we kinda sneaked one bottle in to drink. I was so tired from work, plus getting drunk, i slept there most of the time...lolz.

Over the past week, i have been frequest to kennysia.com. i wonder why i haven't found this page earlier. Loads of crap, funny and interesting blogs are available there. Click here to check it out.

Gaming side, God Of War for PSP came out. I've waiting long for it, and i completed the game in less than 6 hours..swt. My fren warned my;

friend : play this game slowly, many ppl say its short
me : ok, u should have told me before i started playing
friend : lol

when he told me, i was already like 3/4 into the game..lol
Now Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core is out. Finally it came out and the download is causing problems.. the 4th and 5th part, both failing when it reaches 95%. and the same thing happened 2-3 times.. fortunately is finally came through and i am now enjoying the game..

ciao for now, FF7: CC calling....

Much overdue update....

AS the title, this post was much delayed.....nothing coming in the way really, im just lazy..
alright....briefly, election as done and dusted on saturday and the results was confirmed in the early hours of the following day. Will not go into details but for me, the result was kinda expected. Lots of shit happening in the country lately and all i can say is;

" this is democracy. The people have spoken, hopefully sending an loud and clear wake up call to those sitting up there"

All we can do, as Malaysians is to wait and see what the future holds for us as different people take their positions as part of our country leaders. We can only hope that this change will help us spearhead our move towards further modernization as a multi-racial country.

I was really shocked to hear that there was rumors saying that this election was as the previous ones, its not really that transparent. True or not, im not sure. Time may tell but until its really justified or whatever, its best to keep it to ourselves.

OK....on a lighter note, went for 10000BC during election day...haha. The movie was kinda interesting. Briefly, its a bout this mountain tribe who had their villagers kidnapped by Egyptians to work as slaves to build the pyramids. So this fella from the mountain tribe went on a journey to save them as apparently one of those kidnapped was his true love....aint that sweet...lol
So the way, he and his gang of 3 other warriors, 2 of the was kidnapped later too, gathered warriors from other villages, mostly africans, to journey to Egypt to save his people and the other slaves there. ..phew...
Basically thats the story lar...kinda spoilt it for those who did not watch it yet...lol

After the movie, got the football results for that day, MU lost to Pompey...O.O
i was shocked but also happy. Chelsea too lost to BARNSLEY...double O.O
and the next day, Middlesborough lost to Cardiff.... o.o (its not that much of a shock compared to the earlier 2. WBA expectedly beat Bristol 5-1.
Its really the year of the underdogs..
The semis will be cardiff - barnley and pompey - wba
wba is flying high in the Championship but cardiff and barnsley; the last time i checked, they were stuggling in the Championship. now im rooting Barnsley for the cup...come on u Tykes!!! lol
Arsenal, despite the heroics in Milan was helded by Wigan at the JJB sigh....

Work wise, started working last monday at HP as a onsite support engineer. 3 days into the job, i would say, so far so good. i was able to learn something new in the so far short stint there, being exposed to the Data Center. dont know what is it? as Mr. Google...haha
Hopefully i can learn a lot more here and from what i heard or briefed, i will be exposed to a lot more than just the Data Center. Will just have to see how it goes. People there are friendly and i seem to be the youngest one in the team...SWT
Downside here is, parking is expensive, RM7 per day and i nd to walk for about 5 minutes from car to office. On the lighter note, i heard from my boss that is can be subsidized...sweet!!
Food quite limited here too, except for the canteen which is usually packed during lunch hour. Either i dont eat, go for lunch earlier or later...haha. Or just drive out to erm....SS2, seksyen 17 or Bangsar for lunch...

Thats it for not i guess.....

Milan 0 Arsenal 2

AS the title tells, i am obviously delighted as Arsenal became the first english team to oust AC Milan at the San Siro; at the same time knocking Milan out of this year's Champions League contention.
All seems lost when Adebayor missed at point blank header, crashing it into the crossbar with just seconds to go at the Emirates, making it end 0-0 rather than the regular " 1-nil to the arsenal" . I was clearly disappointed and the facts and history of AC Milan had odds heavily stacked against Arsenal.

  • Milan have not lost to an English team at the San Siro
  • Milan always win their 2nd leg games in the round of 16, which is always at the San Siro ( for the past 6 years; drawwing all their 1st leg games 0-0)
  • They have very experience but aging players and had the likes of Kaka' in their lineup.

Adebayor missing a header right in front of the goal at the Emirates

Fabregas releasing a 30-yard shot which beats the keeper at San Siro.

Adebayor tapping in Walcott's cross to make sure of the result.

And both the goals sparked celebrations like none other....it was a great night for Arsenal FC, given their recent slump....taking only 1 point from Birmingham after a late contorversial penalty by James McFadden and Niklas Benthner needing to stab in a last minute equaliser against Aston Villa.
Goals and after match celebrations

Beating Milan is one thing, but seeing the likes of Flamini, Fabregas, Adebayor, Hleb, Clichy and Sagna standing up to the likes of Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Inzaghi and Kaka' is really something, showing that Wenger is slowly molding these ones unknown players into world beaters. I personally was really happy seeing Flamini able to hold down Kaka and limiting his movement. What really made it special was also seeing Arsenal dominating possesion of the ball and proving all critics wrong in this match...Sweeet...

Other highlight of the nights matches was of couse the Sevilla - Fenebache game. Superb goals in this game and the tie ended 5-5 on aggregate, needing penalties to settle the score. Fenebache's keeper; was at fault for Sevilla's first 2 goals; was the hero of the night, saving 3 penalties in the shootout. Great match, sadly i did not watch it as i was too caught up with the Milan - Arsenal tie.
Other games saw Man Utd see off the challenge of Lyon with a Christiano Ronaldo goal, making it 2-1 on aggregates and Xavi volleying the only goal at the Nou Camp to give Barcelona a 4-2 aggregate win over Celtic, which was marred by the injury of Lionel Messi. So Arsenal ,MU, Barca and Fenebache goes through to the quarters, who else will follow suit?

Horrific Tackle and some other updates

Its been a bad week for Arsenal football club.....sadly to say
Was totally outplayed by Manchester United in the FA Cup; losing 4-0 at Old Trafford in what i would say is the worse Arsenal performance this season; apart from Manchester United playing extremely well. A deserved win for the Devils. Other eye catching result of that round of matches was of course the demise of Liverpool in the hands of Barnsley at ANFIELD!!! talk about unpredictability..its that even a word?..

Arsenal held by Milan in the UCL; i would say its a not very satisfying result for the Gunners given the chances they had in the game. Liverpool against all odds beating Inter and United held by Lyon. For me, the game of the round would be the match between Celtic and Barcelona at Celtic Park. 5 goals in an entertaining match.

23rd February 2008, Arsenal FC rocked by the horrific tackle on Eduardo da Silva by Martin Taylor in the 3rd minute of the game.
No need for explanation, just view and a picture tells a 1000 words..

I'm here wishing and hoping for a speedy recovery for Eduardo and hope that it will not end his playing career.

Recently Melvin talked me into listening to Nightwish. Apparently its a Finnish metal band and some of their songs are pretty catchy and interesting. Have not been listening to it, but just today out of curiosity, i though of just giving it a try and i must say, its pretty good. ( after about 5-6 songs). Am still listening to it..haha

Update....since cny.

Wow....its been a while since, guess im just getting lazy or there is just nothing much to blog about.
Anyway, CNY has been great, even with the lesser angpows. That is apart from going down with flu for the first few days of CNY...that is.....sucked rite?

A doze of panadol, 100Plus helped cool down the fever abit and even now i am experiencing some shitty sore throat that just wont go away....its already been a month since the throat start aching....dammit.

That aside, CNY is the time where we visit friends to get angpao as well as to get a round of card/mahjung games. Thou our crowd tend to be small, we ended up playing 'chor tai ti' and when theres enough ppl, we do Blackjacks and some other games which im not quite sure of its english name; one of it being " fher luung moon" or to put it bluntly, " shoot at the goal" ....whatever..
There are wins and there are loses, and i would say i lost more than what i won....no luck.
Winner will always need to spend the group for dinner or some meal; at least for yumcha sessions lar...
Yesterday we sped down to PD for BBQ. why? cuz we got nothing better to do. We left the house at about 730pm; went to econsave and jusco to get our food....as you can see, pretty last minute..
left at bout 830 and reached that place at around 930-10...cant really remember. set the fire and start eating , and left for home at about 1230.

That aside....

WE ARE 5 POINTS CLEAR!!!!!!!!
Great for Manchester City to gun down United on their big day; the 50th anniversary of the Munich Disaster. After that result; Arsenal beating Blackburn was crucial to make full advantage of the Manchester result as well as the bore draw between Chelsea and Liverpool. That game was so boring till i got my PSP to play while watching..seriously...
But Liverpool came closest to winning, but with their finishing recently, they will finish within the top 5 or 6; not the top 4. 12 games left; anything could happen. Thou i hope what ever happens, it happens from the 2nd position onwards as the title will be Arsenals!!! Can't really blame a guy for hoping right?

Weekend FA Cup clash between United and Arsenal; great game up the cards. Kinda takes off the gloss from the other FA Cup clashes. it could get any better than this. Will just have to watch it to find out the results.....our you could wait for the results in the papers the day after.
Go GUNNERS!!!!!

On a weaker note....
Another lonely valentines day. no date no plans no activities....sigh..
i guess i just dont see enough people and just failing to take the chances that come forth..
Sigh, my targets are all taken; and i dont really have anyone else to call as yet....
Now i feel like " looking for a deep enough drain to jump/fall into" ....lol

anyway happy valentines

ciao

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Usher in the rat/mouse/rodent year 2008. Hopefully this year will be a prosperous one and i wish everyone good health and wealth this year. No matter where to 'wealth' come from, but health should always come first; drink moderately, drive save whether you are balik-ing kampung or visiting friends or looking to kick it with Uncle Lim's son.

Mandarins and 'bak kua' aplenty this time around as well as the angpows. So needless to say, i'm in pursuit for angpows. haha
Its the last day of the lunar year, family dinner a bit later and who knows whats the plan later in the night....

Catch up....

Its been a long time since i blogged as there is nothing much to blog about anyway. hay ha.
Been caught up with my PSP and was spending a good part of my 1 week off last week playing with it. The only downside that i find on the PSP is that the wireless runs on a 802.11b connection instead of the standard 802.11bg that comes with most wireless adapters.
Difference between 802.11b and 802.11g? To put it bluntly 802.11g is faster compared to 802.11b. Even if your wireless router runs at 802.11bg ( which means it supports b and g connection) connecting the PSP will downgrade connections to a b connection; meaning your laptop that was running on a g connection will also slowdown to a b connection.
Not that i'm complaining but the main thing i want to use to PSP wireless function is to get an ad hoc connection with my mate's PSP for some multiplayer gaming.

Was up at genting on saturday night; just for the cool air and some casino fun...din really gamble; and even if i did, no luck. sigh...anyway caught the MC-Arsenal game. It was a tough weekend for the top 3 teams as the face difficult away games. It was great to see Adebayor and Arsenal making full use of their possession and chances to round up the game 1-3. Great win i would say; given Manchester City's unbeaten home record. I guess Arsenal owe their neighbors Tottenham a 'thank you card' for carving out a draw with MU in a game where Spurs totally deserved to win. That shows taking your chances in a game is every important. Defoe scored on his debut to ensure an Anelka goal for Chelsea does not warrant a win. Liverpool expectedly beaten Sunderland in a game where a win is the least expected for Rafa.

Its great to see arsenal back on top the table and i really hope that they can maintain their form throughout the season up until May. This season's title race has been the closest yet with 3 teams just separated by 6 points. Champions League football is returning soon and the mouth-watering match-ups in the next round is just; i would say; around the corner.

With CNY just around the corner, i would say there are plenty around to house to do. Namely cleaing the house. Its amazing how dirty a small corner of a house can be. haha. CNY also means lots of food, with various of snacks available in houses where you got visiting. Also up are the CNY delicacies namely the YeeSang. I would call it " Chinese Salad" haha. A blend of turnips, carrots, Pamelo fruit pulp, a little bit of this and that ( yes, im not very sure what they put in there too) and a choice of raw fish; salmon; or even abalone or pacific clams even lobsters; covered in plum sauce, cinnamon and peppers; glazed with a generous helping of peanuts and sesame seed. Toss em all up and it will turn from this

to this

A good dish for fellowship or gathering i would say as everyone around the table with toss the ingredients about; to mix it up. A delicacy only available during the CNY period and it cost from about RM 28+ for a full plate.

adious for now and happy CNY
